Channel Manager

This feature in Intel Cloud PMS allows you to customize and configure your hotel system according to your operational needs, connection type, and room/rate mapping between Intel Cloud PMS and the Channel Manager system.

Config

In the Config menu, you can view the connection type configured for your hotel in Intel Cloud PMS.

What is a Connection Type?

A connection type defines how data is synchronized between Intel Cloud PMS and the Channel Manager system.

Connection Types Include:

1. 2-Way Full Inventory

This is a standard two-way connection, where data is fully synced between Intel Cloud PMS and the channel manager.

Intel Cloud PMS manages and synchronizes all supported data, including:

  • Availability
  • Rates
  • Stop Sell by Room
  • Stop Sell by Rate
  • Close to Arrival (CTA)
  • Close to Departure (CTD)
  • Adult Extra Rate
  • Child Extra Rate
  • Reservations

2. 2-Way Reservation & Room Allotment Only (Rates Not Synced)

Room rates are not synchronized from Intel Cloud PMS in this connection type.

You manage the following in Intel Cloud PMS:

  • Availability
  • Reservations

You manage the following in the Channel Manager:

  • Rates
  • Stop Sell by Room
  • Stop Sell by Rate
  • Close to Arrival (CTA)
  • Close to Departure (CTD)
  • Adult Extra Rate
  • Child Extra Rate

3. 1-Way Reservation Only

Intel Cloud PMS is used mainly for receiving and managing reservation data.

Only reservations are synchronized to Intel Cloud PMS.

You manage the following in the Channel Manager:

  • Availability
  • Rates
  • Stop Sell by Room
  • Stop Sell by Rate
  • Close to Arrival (CTA)
  • Close to Departure (CTD)
  • Adult Extra Rate
  • Child Extra Rate

Configuration Options

  • Reservation Auto Assign Room
    The system will automatically assign a room number for reservations received via the channel manager.

  • Pull Reservation
    The system will automatically retrieve (pull) reservations from the channel manager into Intel Cloud PMS.

  • Update Room Rate
    The system will automatically update room rates from the Intel Cloud PMS to the channel manager.
    (Room rates are set in the Intel Cloud PMS, and the channel manager will reflect the same prices.)

  • Update Room Allotment
    The Intel Cloud PMS controls room availability and open/close sales status. ​The channel manager will receive the same number of available rooms and the same open/close sales status as configured in the Intel Cloud PMS for each date.

Important Note:

If Update Room Rate or Update Room Allotment options is set to No, the Intel Cloud PMS system will not send that information to the Channel Manager.

Map Room Rate:

This feature maps room types and rate plans between the Intel Cloud PMS and the Channel Manager.
The mapping must be accurate to ensure that prices and room allotments are synchronized correctly and reflect real-time availability.

Important Note:

Room types and rate plans in the Channel Manager must exactly match those in Intel Cloud PMS. Any mismatch may cause incorrect pricing, availability issues, or synchronization errors.

Accounting Service​

Intel Cloud PMS can be integrated with the third-party accounting system.

Intel Cloud PMS can be integrated with the third-party door lock system.
